Park Street Auditorium
"The Park Street School Auditorium in Springfield, Vermont was built in 1930; the Stock Market had just crashed, Prohibition was in its tenth year, and the word Nazi was the name of an obscure political party in Germany. In the Springfield Reporter, the headlines were about the school's expansion, which included a new auditorium, gym, library, and mezzanine: “Most Modern Building in Vermont is Equipped With Every Device to Increase Efficiency of Students and Staff.” The addition carried a price tag of $465,000, just under $6 million in today's money." - Johanna Sorrentino
